13 on the 13th

New foster girl~Girlie!
Kayla tries her laptop out.
Katelyn looks to see what Kayla is doing on HER laptop. LOL
Ethan and his $300 half a tail! He is still a handsome man!
Kayla and Katelyn are officially teenagers! Their party is on the 18th but of course they had to get some of their gifts already! We went to Sunny Lake Park yesterday to have a little picnic, take a bike ride and give them there laptops(birthday gift from us).

Darcy was adopted today. Bobby Jack and Patchy Queen went to a different foster home as they were not doing so well here. We did take in a new dog today though (I know, I know...I was supposed to be taking a break but....we had a zillion apps for another Rottie mix we had so since she is a Rottie/Dobie mix and I got another call yesterday from another person looking for a Rottie I decided to take her). Her name is Girlie (she came with her name) and she is a DOLL! We adopted out two of our rats on Saturday too. YAY!

Foster's Update

Lookie my Roy! Such a sweetie!

Of course, that would be the old, I mean, anniversary couple! My girls!

Arroyo(or Roy) was adopted on Saturday which leaves me with NO foster dogs! So we now have, 4 rats: Lola and Hannah and Ethel and Esther. 4 cats~2 kittens and 2 adults: Bobby and Patches (adults) and Mallory and Yoshi (kittens). 1 rabbit~still not named or sexed for that matter!

My parents' anniversary party went well on Saturday! And Madison has her first school field trip tomorrow. Rob will be going with her since he can go without missing work and I am sure there won't be many trips like that in the future.

It's October

No new photos so I am posting some from last year at the JDRF walk at the Cleveland Zoo! Katelyn and Kayla!
Me abusing that poor elephant! ...and to think I call myself an animal rescuer!
Punk being Punk!
Katelyn tames a bear!
Kayla trying to soothe the poor elephant after my ride!
And that means a few things.....

We are half way through the first quarter of the school year and interim reports were sent home. Kayla and Katelyn got one "B" which they are not too happy about but are hoping to get them up before the end of the grading period. Katelyn said that if not at least their report cards will say "ADVANCED" math or Language Arts...LOL. But that is what the guidance counselor said when she wanted to move them up...that some kids are unsure because they want to make sure they keep their all "A's" record.

Madison got all "1's" on her interim report since they don't have letter grades yet and her comment is "Madison is off to a great start!" YAY!

Then we have Kayla and Katelyn will be turning 13 on the 13th this year! YIKES! Some day Madison will turn 13 on the 13th as well since I like to have my children on the 13th of whatever month they are born. All 2 birthdays are on the 13th! LOL.

Then we have elections coming up in just a month. I will be voting Democrat at this point as I happen to think that the Republicans have shown us all the miracles they can do with our economy for long enough. Now that I am struggling to EAT I think I will throw all that moral garbage out the window and vote for Obama!

But on a local note. ....if you are in Portage County, our family friend, Dave Doak is running for sheriff. Yes, he is a democrat but more importantly (as the sheriff doesn't do a whole lot platform wise) he is a GOOD man...honest, caring and has the experience to be a great Sheriff for our community! So if you wanted to know how to vote for for our county Sheriff...Dave's the man!

I am adding another site to my little favorites list too. http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=3&ThirdPartyClicks=ERA_100408_ARS if you go here and click you can give money to several different things...."child health", "animal rescue", "breast cancer awareness" and others. I chose to get a reminder email each day...I just go and click on everyone and it gives them money....and costs me none. It is a true thing too....I checked it out on snopes. LOL.

Longest, most jumbled blog ever.............

We set up new cages for rats. The yellow bottom is for the two boys and the purple bottom is for the 6 girls.
Cherry is our red saffron Lovebird. I took her from the breeder that we got our Howie from in hopes of taming her but have been told that since she was a "breeder" bird and never tamed that the chances of that are very unlikely. She probably needs a home with another Lovebird where she can just been a "for looks" bird. The red saffron is a very rare color caused by a defect while the egg is developing. There are no health issues but it is actually a mistake for it to show up but is very pretty for sure!

This is Darcy our white faced blue violet pied Lovebird that the girls are afraid of. LOL. She needs a little extra time spent with her but is really a nice bird. We have decided to find her a new home since they are afraid of her. I know....I am a loser like all the other people that I rescue animals from!! What can I say!

This is Charlie, April (Mrs. Stanfield), Megan, Holly and Leah.

Open house photo!

Roy, our foster Greyhound.

Yoshi, foster kitten...he is a boy! LOL. And Mallory is the girly

Tortie/Calico....GORGEOUS-est kitten ever!

So I was told that I needed to update my blog....but I didn't think anyone even read it but me! And though it is nice for me to know what I am doing ....it really doesn't help me much...I am still pretty clueless!

Madison had an open house at school and her teacher took her picture...for some reason I look fat in the picture but I am sure it is just the angle of the camera! LMBO!

We would really appreciate thoughts and prayers for Madison's teacher's family for the next YEAR as her husband, Charlie is off to Egypt for a year. They have 3 little girls...I will be posting a photo and I know that Punk has had a REALLY hard time with Rob working second shift and not seeing him through the week so I can only imagine how it will be for their 3 girls...Megan, Leah, and Holly...not to mention Mrs. Stanfield essentially being a single mom of 3 while working full time too! So lots of prayers for them please.

My parents' surprise 40th anniversary party will be this Sunday now. It isn't a surprise anymore as I ended up asking my mom when she wanted to have her surprise party! LOL. But my dad didn't know it had been rescheduled until last night. It is good how we communicate so well as a family! :o/

Our Beagle/Basset foster, Stewart has finally been adopted! He has a nice family with a fenced yard(in Kent), a Beagle sister, Ruby to play with and a little human brother, Finn! Cute little guy!

The Italian Greyhounds have moved to Maryland with another Iggie, an Iggie Chihuahua and a Golden...oh and two humans...HUGE fenced yard! GREYT home!
We did have to take a Greyhound off the last haul out of September though as they just closed down The Woodlands kennel there and I just couldn't not take any....yes, I am supposed to be taking a BREAK!.....but one foster dog is better than it has been for awhile. Arroyo (we call him Roy) is doing pretty well and should be leaving for his forever home in Newark on Saturday....and FINALLY I will be foster dog less! I HOPE!!!! We still have 4 foster rats, 4 foster cats (2 kittens and 2 adults) and now a foster rabbit....The APL asked us to help them so I couldn't say no to them! LOL. BIG surprise that I cannot say no...right?? :o/

My Grandma

My Grandma Dorothy, my Dad's mom passed away today....this some day, 5 years ago my other Grandma, Helen, passed away.

When I went to see her yesterday she didn't recognize me.... Then she did and then she didn't again. I noticed that her breathing was weird then and then last night she woke up in a lot of pain and once she fell asleep after that episode she never woke up again. The nurse had said she probably wouldn't but that it could be 2 hours or 2 days...it was about 2 hours. She passed in her sleep in her own bed. She is in a better place and is now with my Grandpa who passed away almost 15 years ago.

We have put my parents' 40th anniversary party on hold.

That's all for now.

September 14th Update

Our Howie!
Kayla's Heidi...one of the two persians we rescued at the ripe age of 12!
Heidi again with Kayla's "kitten" London on Katelyn's bed. LOL.
Pictures from Mariah's 10th birthday party! There were 17 dogs present for the affair!
Mariah and her adopted "daughter" Kandi who is sadly up for adoption now because her mom is losing her home!
Westie girl...even though humans have been horrible to her~She is still sweet!

Our Kelsie~one of the 5 kittens we trapped with their mom at my mom's house!
My Dylan~

My niece found a little Westie in horrible shape in the church parking lot yesterday and I had to give her back to her retarded owners today! Her eyes were a mess, she peed non-stop, here ears were so badly infected she cried when I tried to clean them out, her skin was all pink and it a lot of it raw...fleas.... It made me so sick to have to do it but the law is the law. I did report her to the APL...photos, name, address and all...we shall see if they do anything! (I attached photos AFTER here bath and cleaned up ears and eyes...feel free to email me if you would like to call to report her to the APL too....I will email the info to you directly)

Ike hit Ravenna,OH yesterday in a big way. We were at Walmart last night and a fence fell on some cars and did some damge...the construction barrels were sliding across the parking lot too! CRAZY! Lots of my friends(yes, I do have some)are still with power and so are my parents. I allowed my mom to shower her today for a small fee...she hasn't paid me yet but I think she is good for the money! LOL. We are less a few shingles but I think sometimes they blow off when cars drive by. :o/ Nothing major for us though.

We had to cut Ethan's tail wrap off...I held him while Rob was the mean guy...he used a lot of profanity at us but it is done and his tail looks good. He has about half left and his stitched stay in for 2 weeks. I still think we could have done that here at home for much less! ;o)
Madison will be starting jazz on the 27th....the same day as the rabbit show at the fair grounds...not sure how we will handle that??

I lied about the girls....they were not switched to gifted classes they were switched to enriched language arts and then today advanced math. The guidance counselor called me today to tell me how impressed she was with the scores and how happy they were to have them at their school! :o) Kayla got the highest score possible in comprehension! ...everything was at least a ninth grade 6th month level....so pretty good! ;o)
PS. I will continue to add random photos since I am soooooo behind. I am 35 years old...that is a lot of blogging!
